Trend Report: Fringe

BFA NYC

Rachel Zoe might be the world’s biggest fan of fringe; “I’ve been collecting and wearing it for as long as I can remember”.  Whether rummaging through vintage shops in Italy or selecting ensembles for NYFW, Rachel has been drawn to the vibrant trend for decades and has embraced it in all incarnations. Here, Rachel Zoe describes her love of the style and the multitude of ways to wear it.

“Fringe can elevate a look for day or night. Suede or leather fringe adds a dose of edge for day, particularly when paired with a maxi dress or jeans and a tee. For evening, I love to amp it up with a metallic version. Whether its the full garment or just the trim, the motion adds the perfect amount of added drama.”

Countless Summer 2018 runways—Celine, Loewe, Altuzarra and Balmain among just a few—were awash with fringe-bedecked ensembles, so it seemed only fitting to incorporate a fringed item in the Summer 2018 Box of Style. Tapping For Love & Lemons, the LA-based boho-brand, to contribute a fringed style from their newly launched jewelry line was an easy fit.
